Isn't it always the tiny towns that seem to flourish the coolest little shops? It goes without saying that Flagler Beach, a unique seaside community, is host to one very interesting thrift store.     Attracted by the uber cool neon green paint and artsy sign on the store front, I ventured into Sweet Pea Vintage Shop on one beach-beautiful day in January 2013. I was immediately greeted by shop owner, Doreen Willcox Armstrong. A super friendly and ever-so-charming lady, Doreen made me feel welcome right on the spot. After perusing through racks of new and nearly new clothing, I selected several items to try on. Everything was in pristine condition and I ended up purchasing the entire lot. Doreen was so sweet and even threw in a few "freebies"! I definitely suggest stopping by and visiting Sweet Pea Vintage in Flagler Beach, FL. "Can I wear white after Labor Day?"   Go for it! It's January, so technically speaking it's "before" Labor day! :o)   But honestly, there is no reason to pack up your white clothing after Labor Day.   The answer is "Yes, you may wear white any day of the year!!"   Jennifer Lopez pulls it off twice in two gorgeous dresses. Once at the NYC premiere of Parker and then again at the Las Vegas premiere.     It is best to avoid sheer, flimsy fabrics and opt for more winter weather material to keep in line with the weather. Layer items to add weight to lighter garments and mix in cream and off-white for a stunning ensemble.

I know I've said this over and over, but I just want to say it one more time......... I can't stress enough how important it is to book your makeup artist well in advance. I used to suggest at least 6 months but it seems brides are catching on. I'm booked up almost a year in advance! I've had to turn away many disappointed brides who waited until only a few months, weeks or even a day before their big event. I do not have a "team" of artists, so I can only book a minimum number of clients in any given month. I can't even begin to guess which months are the most popular. My advice to you is no matter the date or occasion, be sure to lock in your event date with a signed agreement and retainer as soon as you have decided on your makeup artist.
