Can you believe it's May 1st?! We are already 1/3 of the way through 2017. Here is an update on some of my recent work along with a few upcoming projects.  I recently worked on a music video, Freetown's "Life of the Party" in North Miami for ECG Productions. I provided SFX makeup and prosthetics for a disaster response training exercise in Seminole County, FL with Blood Moon Labs. I was the Key Makeup Artist/Hair Stylist on a commercial for Mott's Juice with Ripple ROad Entertainment and a commercial for Lane Construction for The Union Productions both filmed in Orlando, FL. My personal choice is to go with a sheer makeup coverage, perhaps a tinted moisturizer to allow the freckles to show through, but some redheads may want to have a more pigmented foundation to blend and hide the freckles. Avoid going to dark with the foundation because it may begin to appear unnatural. On the set of Nick & Nicky the Movie Using a cheek stain will help bring up the natural blush color and look fresh. Over 1200 individuals participated in a disaster training exercise in Osceola, Seminole, Orange and Lake counties and I had the extreme honor of being one of the SFX makeup artists on staff to create the wounds and injuries.  Using a variety of prosthetics, fake blood and makeup, we were able to simulate multiple casualties for the "victims". 80+ emergency agencies participated in this training exercise which was funded by a grant from the State Homeland Security Program.  The drill was designed to train and improve the skills of our emergency personnel. Job well done to everyone involved in this project!!

How many of these mistakes have you made? Applying Makeup To Dry Skin - If you try to apply makeup to dry skin, you will find the makeup sits on top of the skin instead of blending in. The makeup tends to accentuate the dryness resulting in flaky skin. You want to be sure to exfoliate at least once a week, followed by a moisturizer suitable for your skin type.   Not Applying Primer - Primers create a smooth surface that not only helps your makeup glide on, it provides a base to keep your makeup in place. After applying moisturizer, apply the primer and then your foundation.  Not Knowing the Proper Way to Contour - There are oodles of contouring guides available on the internet. But be aware of what areas YOU need to contour. Blending is as important as the placement. This gorgeous Colombian beauty is none other than Daniela Lopez . She was just a teenager when I did her makeup for this Flagler Beach photoshoot in May 2011.  She actually came along to the shoot as a friend of another model in hopes of getting some photos done. When I saw her, I new right away she would be perfect for my photoshoot. As I was doing her makeup, she told me her dream was to model for Victoria's Secret . Shortly after this shoot, she was signed to the Wilhelmina MIA agency.
