Red Apple Lipstick

I recently received the cutest makeup package in the mail. It was from Red Apple Lipstick. The items were wrapped in “apple” green tissue paper and placed inside a small burlap-style drawstring pouch.

The products included full-size versions of a lipstick, lip gloss, lip liner pencil and a sample lipstick with disposable lip brush.

I grabbed the lip pencil first. This was the R-evolution lip liner and the color was Nude. Just as the name implies, it’s the perfect shade to create a neutral lip. The pencil went on creamy, without tugging or stretching the lips and the color stayed true to form. With a matte finish, it creates the perfect daytime finish.

Next, was the full-size lipstick in New York, a brown based nude with orange undertones that blended superbly with the Nude pencil. I really liked the consistency of the lipstick and the smooth results it provided. It has no shimmer and is an ideal choice for the workplace. It’s a fantastic color option for day or night.

The lip gloss was pale pink with a lot of shimmer and shine. The color name is Cotton Candy. This gloss works wonderfully over the New York lipstick adding some cool pinks to the orange undertones. It can bring your day look to night with just a wash of this lustrous gloss.
The sample lipstick is Secrets, and as the website describes it, it's somewhere between red and nude. I'll just say it's a gorgeous color!

I’m definitely enjoying these samples and am looking to purchase some more of Red Apple Lipstick products to add to my makeup bag. I’m eyeing up the lipsticks in Foxy and Naughty plus I have a list of shadows already started. All Red Apple Lipstick products are certified gluten free, paraben free, soy free, dairy free and allergen free.

Do I need a trial makeup consultation for my wedding?

This question comes up quite often so I decided to give you my thoughts. Do I need a trial makeup consultation for my wedding? In one simple word, no . I realize there are some makeup artists out there who will not, for whatever reason, provide wedding day makeup for a bride without first having a consultation. I am not one of those artists. Perhaps it stems from working in the film and print industry (outside of bridal) where I have learned to hone my skills and listen to what the client wants.
