Cargo Cosmetics

I recently had the opportunity to represent Cargo Cosmetics in the Ulta Store at Oakleaf Town in Jacksonville, FL.

As a smaller brand, it still packs a punch. I fell in love with the Beach Blush. It's the marriage of blush and bronzer that offers the radiance of a newly flushed face and the glow of a lasting summertime tan.

Provides the benefits of blush and bronzer in one convenient product with four harmonious shades in one tin that work together to provide the perfect balance of color for all skin tones, avoiding the yellow look of many bronzers. Light reflective shimmer particles add a radiant glow to the skin and soften the appearance of fine lines. Generously packaged with in CARGO's signature tin this medley of four distinct, multi-tonal bronzing and blush shades gives a beautiful and distinctive look to the product .

A key ingredient: Vitamin E: Soothes and conditions the delicate skin

It's convenient to use. Looks fantastic on everyone. A natural look with subtle shimmer makes it a great choice for summertime.

Available in four shades:
Coral Beach: Warm Coral Bronze
Cable Beach: Deep Plum Bronze
Sunset Beach: Light Pink Bronze
Miami Beach: Cool Rose Bronze

Another noteworthy item is the Essential Palette

The "little black dress" of your eye shadow collection and the base of your eye-makeup looks, these stunning neutrals by CARGO allow you to create a timeless, nude and perfectly sculpted eye make-up with ease.

Each of the four shades is embossed with its function/use (BROWBONE, LID, CREASE, OUTER CORNER) to make the application process a breeze. The four neutral shades are gradations of each other, ranging from light to dark. The Palettes have a combination of matte and satin finishes.
A key ingredient: Vitamin E: Soothes and conditions the delicate skin around the eye area and it is especially good for sensitive eyes

It's designed for those who may be slightly less skilled at makeup application. The palette includes the embossed shadows along with an instruction template indicating suggested makeup placement. The neutral choices make it a win-win situation for everyone.

Available in three palettes:

Warm Neutral: Browbone (Ivory), Lid (Cream), Crease (Caramel), Outer Corner (Dark Brown)
Cool Neutral: Browbone (Pearl), Lid (Light Taupe), Crease (Dark Taupe), Outer Corner (Dark Grey)
Dark Neutral: Browbone (Champagne), Lid (Camel), Crease (Dark Brick), Outer Corner (Dark Chocolate)

And of course, my all-time favorite item from Cargo's collection, Better-than-waterproof Mascara
A mascara by CARGO that is better than waterproof. Gentle enough for everyday use yet does not melt, smudge or run. It comes off easily with warm water for easy, gentle removal at the end of your day!
A truly water resistant mascara that is gentle enough to be worn every day yet stays put and can be worn even if swimming or crying! The perfect daily mascara. The tubing formulation stays put during the day yet is easily removed with warm water and gentle pressure - no need for heavy, greasy eye make-up removers. This is the perfect vacation mascara - you don't need to pack eye make-up remover with you!

I've mentioned before my love for Tube Mascara. And Cargo's brand fits the bill. It's waterproof, yet simple to remove. No smearing, smudging or transferring as with typical mascaras. Hands down, this is the best!

Key ingredients:
Vitamin B: Promote healthy strong lashes
Vitamin E: Known for its natural healing properties Vitamin E nourishes and conditions lashes preventing damage and drying
Vitamin F: An effective moisturizer to help revitalize damaged lashes
Keratin: Strengthens the structure of the lashes by restoring natural protein in the cortex

The highs and lows of a wedding budget

The "dirty" word: If you have ever planned a wedding or have been around someone planning a wedding, there is one single word that makes even the most level-headed bride cringe. Budget. There, I said it. Cut and dry. Now that it's out in the open, let's discuss exactly why that word brings out the inner bridezilla. To start off with, ask any number of brides what their budget is, and I guarantee you will get just as many answers. Budgets can range from under $2,000 on up and past $200,000. It doesn't mean that any amount is better than another. Every wedding has a budget because every couple draws the dollar line somewhere. A budget just defines what you have to spend. Period. Nothing more, nothing less. A bigger budget doesn't make any one bride better than another, nor any wedding less important. So in short, every bride is a budget bride no matter the dollar amount. When you think of it that way, it can wrangle in the green-eyed...

Planning a Destination Wedding

Destination weddings have become increasingly more common. With a touch of added romance, zesty adventure and of course the sultry GETAWAY, a destination wedding can be just that little special touch you're looking for. Planning and organizing a wedding in another city, state or country can be overwhelming and downright nerve-wracking. Trusting wedding professionals is scary enough, but depending on those not within reach can be quite intimidating.  As quoted from theKnot.com in their Destination Wedding Basics: Top 13 Destination Wedding Tips, the Knot highly suggests  to "Bring pros you trust from home to handle critical aspects such as the wedding photography, hair and makeup, and design (lighting, flowers)." There are so many things that can go wrong; no-show vendors, inferior skills, misunderstandings due to a language barrier, makeup artists not familiar with your skin type, strange and unregulated cosmetic products, and of course, fear of the unknown...

Do I need a trial makeup consultation for my wedding?

This question comes up quite often so I decided to give you my thoughts. Do I need a trial makeup consultation for my wedding? In one simple word, no . I realize there are some makeup artists out there who will not, for whatever reason, provide wedding day makeup for a bride without first having a consultation. I am not one of those artists. Perhaps it stems from working in the film and print industry (outside of bridal) where I have learned to hone my skills and listen to what the client wants. Whether it's a model, photographer or producer requesting a specific look, I am confident in my ability to provide exactly what they envision for their project. My clients are pleased and everyone walks away satisfied with the results. My years of experience working as a makeup artist in Florida has given me a long history of wedding day makeup for destination brides. Very few of these brides are able to make all but the most required trips to plan their wedding day. Trying to schedule in ...
