A beautiful day for a wedding!

Saturday, March 22nd was absolutely gorgeous and so was my bride of the day, Kelly! I had the pleasure of meeting Kelly in 2009 at an amazing event, Images for a Cure Five years later, I had the honor of being the makeup artist for her wedding. It was such a pleasure to be able to provide services for the bride, her mother and her bridesmaids. I can't wait to see the photos of these beautiful ladies.  Until then, here is a sneak peak at the lovely bride. And here's an image of Kelly from 2009! Isn't she stunning?

Spring is here... Pretty makeup for every day

Spring is here... Time to change up your daily makeup and try something new and exciting.  Whether pretty pastels are your choice or going soft and natural, Spring is the season to treat yourself to a fun, fresh look.  Begin with a flawless foundation using tinted moisturizer. Make your own by mixing your foundation with an oil-free moisturizer.  Hints of pink on the eyes will brighten and open up your peepers. Go easy on the eye liner, keeping it light and soft. Taupe liner is a great option.  Flushed cheeks add life and youth to your face. Skip the bronzer and choose a natural blush color.  Rosy lips will keep it dreamy and romantic. Mix a berry pink lipstick with clear gloss for the perfect pucker! Add some mascara and you have a fabulous new you!

Questions to ask your wedding day make-up artist.

Congratulations, you're engaged!!   Now that you have the bling, it's time to start planning your wedding.  Colors, gowns, food, music....I am sure you are thinking of all sorts of things for your ever-so-perfect day and your makeup is no exception.  But, before you head out and start panicking with sticker shock, let's go over a few important points so you aren't caught like a deer in headlights.    Is it really worth it?   Before you start to rule out hiring a professional makeup artist, consider the other vendors you'll be using that day.  Would you hand over a point and shoot camera to your favorite cousin and hope for the best?  This is the only chance to get your wedding day photos. There is no do-over and it's not a dress rehearsal, so be sure everything is lined up for you to be flawless and fabulous.  You are going to be the focus of the majority of wedding day photos and I would imagine you are going to want to put your face ...

Tattoo Makeup Cover for the DIY ( Do it yourself ) Type

Although I offer tattoo cover , it is pricey and that can be a huge turn-off to brides trying to keep down their wedding costs. The products I use are a professional grade cosmetic, designed to withstand sweat, heat, water, rain, tears and anything else that could dampen the best laid coverage.  I highly recommend hiring a professional, but if you can't or don't want to hire a professional makeup artist to cover your tattoo, I will give you the low-down on some of the different tattoo makeup available. Keep in mind that these are far inferior to the products I use but are designed for the consumer who wants to save a buck or two.    The location of the tattoo has a lot to do with how well the coverage stays put. Tattoos on the arms or legs; areas that are the least likely to sweat, will have better results than tattoos on the back or chest areas. But tattoos that are on the underside of the arm or areas that rub against the body, m...

MAKEUP TIP: Keeping skin fresh and flawless

It's been a crazy winter. Cold weather just about everywhere, even Florida. Have you noticed your skin beginning to dry out from the constant temperature changes? You try to apply your makeup and it ends up looking flaky and not smooth. There are a few tips and tricks to keep your makeup looking flawless and fabulous. Start by keeping your skin healthy and soft. Be sure to treat your skin kindly and it will return the favor. Eating healthy and drinking appropriate amounts of water will show through with glowing skin. Do not sleep in your makeup, this includes eyeliner and mascara. Remove all traces of your makeup with a quality face wash and makeup remover. I adore Cetaphil, it's perfect for sensitive skin too! Exfoliate your skin to rid it of dead skin cells and renew that healthy glow. Philosophy's Microdelivery Peel Pads are perfect for at home exfoliating. Your skin needs moisture to stay healthy. Just as important as what you put into your body, you need to pay attenti...
